Coloring Easter Eggs

I decided that I would try a new way of cooking the eggs this year...and I'm not sure if they turned out because we haven't eaten them yet.  But I basically baked them at 325 for 30 minutes.  WAY easier than boiling, cooling, and drying.  Supposedly the yokes turn out more tasty this way. I am thinking deviled eggs for lunch tomorrow?? hm.

Anyway, here's a montage of photos from coloring our eggs.  We totally went old school with the dye and vinegar.  Nothing fancy like tattoos, stickers, paint, tie-dye, etc...too much work for me. HA! I do believe that Rhettsy loved it the most.  He was a little obsessed and we actually colored a raw egg just because he couldn't get enough.  They were his babies as you will see in the photos.

2nd Grade Spring Program

Isla's Spring Music program was tonight! She has been excited about this for at least a month.  She came home from school with the songs on a paper and hid it from me and practiced in her room.  It was very cute.  And speaking of cute, check out the outfit she chose (like a week in advance)!

 The girl loves to sing!
And the hand jive song was her favorite.  After it was over I saw her lean over to the boy next to her and say "I messed up 2 times."  HAHA! Too cute.

But seriously Isla, stop getting older and bigger!

She's all growed up

Isla insisted on a "friends" party this year.
And since she is now 7 she had to have it her way.

THE WISH

She's my one and only girl and it breaks my heart to see her grow up.  I can still remember our first day together in the hospital.  I was dead tired but could not sleep.  For the first year of her life I felt as though I had won the lottery.  And, truly, I had.

This year isla quit biting her nails cold-turkey so she could get her ears pierced.  Our previous rule was that she had to be 8 years old but told her if she didn't bite her nails for a week, she could have pierced earrings.  She did it.  No cheating. No problem!

She loves to read and write.  And her favorite thing to write is SONGS.

She also is the best big sister to Macrae and Rhett.  She helps out with anything they need.  And I recently taught her how to change diapers.

jammer time

this is Bill.  he's a city cowboy.  with a real horse.  and the horse, he's Jammer.

my horse girl can't wait to ride him! she's been talking about a horse named "Stubby" since we saw it on the beach in Ocean Shores 3 years ago.  She didn't even get to ride Stubby because by the time it was our turn to ride, his foot was hurt.
Now she has a new horse to love...

And she even got to ride this horse!!

and thanks to my dad (a cowboy at heart) my kids have cowboy boots.  Red Riding boots, to say the least!

Check out Emry on Jammer! (yes, that's a carrot in her mouth. She's THAT cute!)

Thanks to the Parkers for sharing Jammer with us!
