cuddly and cute?
these cute little cuddly guys have been tearing up our lawn since the day it was laid. tonight they came UP TO OUR BACK DOOR and begged. they didn't even run off until midgie barked (yes, midge was over for family night.) and thank goodness she did! gannah was about to invite them inside for tea and crumpets. and we have all seen elf...so we know what raccoons do to people who try to show them love.

rainy and wet field trip
ah, the field trip to the pumpkin patch. i love the schilter farm patch! but somehow, it seems to rain every year.
now everyone line up by the barn to wait for the hayride.

just like a good mom, i let isla brave the rain first
what do you think about this one? too small?
and in the end, she brought home this little prize.

i just want to be an artist
this is a short story about what happens when a working mom leaves her baby with the gannah.
the little baby loves her gannah. she wants to be just like her gannah. the gannah wants the baby to be just like her. so the baby learns to create. she learns to love paper messes.
every day, sometimes all day, this is where i find miss isla. at the table. creating.

baby smurf
as of late, i haven't been saying much on this blog. there are a couple really good reasons for this.
#1. i don't have time to write. it's enough just to get my pictures on here. right?
#2. i used to think i was a good writer and funny...and maybe i was, once. why waiste your time with my silly revivals of parker kids growing up. i can just keep it all in my heart. right?
and #3. (this is a secret of mine) i don't always read other people's blogs. i sometimes just look at the pictures. that's a time thing, also. so i assume, you don't read mine, either. either way, i'm saving YOU time.
i guess if you're reading this. you are the blog "reading" type.
anyway, this is what happened today while i was settling in with my lunch and the remote control (catching up on some Rachel Zoe):
i left the kids in the kitchen with paper, markers, and glue sticks. rhett was crawling around on the floor investigating the scraps. about 10 minutes into my DVRDed program i hear isla laughing. and this is what came around the corner...
and i just had to laugh.

One special evening, Baby Smurf was delivered to the village via a stork! Baby has magical powers and speaks in baby-talk. It is not known whether Baby is a girl or a boy.
~ how many of you watched the smurfs growing up? and even better, how many rescued smurfette from gargamel and azriel through your coleco vision? anyone? anyone?
no, really, this is what i saw...
and i just had to laugh.
