we invite a few princesses

our isla turned 5 on saturday. i can't believe how fast life goes! we invited booboo and her grandparents over for birthday breakfast and cake! oh, and and as you can see, we had a few princesses come too.

she got a bike this year! and she already proclaimed that she wants to learn to ride on just two wheels.

that night isla prayed that she wouldn't "cry or whine anymore" because she is "big now." and she is proving it to us by being helpful with her brothers as well as NOT crying or whining.

i can't believe she is going to kindergarten next year. i haven't signed her up yet because i am so sad about it. maybe if i don't sign her up she can go back to miss robin's preschool??? i will miss her so much! she's my little companion and friend. on the day she was born, i realized how precious life truly is, all from looking into her eyes.

Isla is plenty spunky and knows what she wants. She also has a tenderness and loves learning about Jesus as well as singing songs in primary. her favorite song is "Scripture Power" although most of the time she asks me to sing "I love to see the temple."

"um... happy father's day?"

let it be known: the toilet flooded upstairs. i flushed and rather than going down...it came UP. and then the water went down. into the downstairs. you know, the room we were about to finish this week.

and all on father's day. luckily my man can fix it. unluckily, it puts our plans (and bank account) behind.

happy father's day brandon! i love you! you are a wonderful dad!!

Caution: Men Working

or should i say MAN working...
it's not a secret that BP is quite handy. in between working on this fireplace he has also finished a bathroom, taken out about 3 stumps, put in recessed lighting in the kitchen and family room, changed out the florescent lighting in the kitchen and put in an ACTUAL chandelier, dry-walled the entire family room, installed surround speakers in the family room, put in a concrete retaining wall in the backyard, almost finished our deck and is starting on the yard in the back. phew! can't a guy take a break??

if you had seen our fireplace Before brandon demo'd it, you are in for a real treat.

we are beside ourselves excited for the mantel and cabinets to be built and installed! only a couple more weeks. to be continued...

movin' on up

we returned from CDA to find our baby boy a little more grown up. he's trying to crawl?

HAPPY HOUR

the day in CDA was absolutely gorgeous! while bp worked, i relaxed reading (This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Pfitzgerald) , laying out, walking around the town, and visiting SONIC for my diet coke with fresh lime. oh yah. it was just what i needed.

CDA ~getaway

today i packed up a few things to get away with bp. he has a work gig in Coeur D'alene so i decided i would go along for a quick romantic trip. it has been almost 3 years since we have gone somewhere by ourselves. {a little overdue}

it broke my heart to leave little rhett. {thanks keirra for taking my baby at the last minute}

stop growing up

little miss isla graduated robin's nest preschool.

{this year it's for real, not like last year}

the kids did an adorable performance showing us many of the cute things miss robin had taught them throughout the year.

miss robin is so sweet. isla loved every minute of being in her class. the first thing isla did the next morning was ask if she could go to school and see miss robin. she already misses her!

i can't believe i will be taking her to kindergarten next year. the mere thought of her being in the big, cruel, world makes me sad.

and with good reason, he cut 2 teeth last week. dang, he's delicious! rolling back and forth and scooting around the room. can't i stop him from growing up???

this is what sunday evening looked like tonight. when brandon came cruising down the driveway on his longboard, macrae went nuts.

then she got her turn and macrae couldn't handle sharing.

heat wave

last weeks weather {mid 90's HELLO!} had the parkers busting out swimsuits EVERY DAY. it was awesome! it has now cooled off and i'm missing it already.
